In nearly 10 years, Bridge has grown to a team of more than 50 people from almost 25 nationalities, with headquarters in Madrid, where most of our team is based; an emerging LatAm HQ in Guatemala, with a few team members; and a few people based in different places around the world.
JOB MISSION
As Program Finance and Compliance Officer, you’ll be the financial and operational backbone of our programs, ensuring funds are used effectively and projects are delivered on time and within scope. You’ll manage budgets, ensure donor compliance, lead project planning and execution, and streamline operations—all while advancing our mission towards more inclusive and sustainable economies. MAIN CONTRIBUTIONS
Financial Management and Reporting
- Develop and oversee program budgets, ensuring alignment with donor agreements and project goals.
- Produce timely, accurate project financial reports, including expenditure summaries, forecasts, and variance analyses for donors and leadership.
- Track expenditures to ensure compliance with budgets and proactively flag discrepancies or risks.
- Assess program financial viability and support strategic decisions through clear reporting and financial KPIs.
Project Management and Execution
- Develop project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure successful program delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, managing risks and resolving issues to keep projects on track.
- Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with budgets, donor requirements, and organizational priorities.
- Oversee weekly staffing and resource allocation across active programs.
Donor Compliance & Audit
- Ensure full compliance with donor financial guidelines (e.g. Development Agencies, EU Commission, global funders).
- Lead audit preparation, coordinating documentation and supporting the resolution of findings.
- Stay current on donor policies to guide internal teams and mitigate compliance risks.
Operational Excellence
- Design and implement systems to improve project efficiency, from procurement to logistics and financial control.
- Collaborate across Finance and Program teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks.
- Support program teams with administrative and financial operations, ensuring alignment with internal standards.
Capacity Building
- Train and support finance and program staff on budgeting, compliance, and project operations.
- Develop tools and systems that strengthen financial discipline and operational performance across programs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Hard and Soft skills we look for in this particular role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in financial management and/or project management within NGOs or donor-funded programs, with a track record of managing complex budgets and projects.
- Deep knowledge of donor compliance (e.g., USAID, EU Commission, etc.) and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience working with tools such as Google Sheets and Notion, and ideally in designing or improving internal cost control systems.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, executing, and monitoring projects (familiarity with Agile or PMBOK methodologies is a plus).
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to lead processes and clearly explain financial and project-related concepts.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, multicultural environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

OFFER AND LOCATION
Transparent salaries and fair compensation structure, mid-range for the social sector:
- Compensation: Annual salary ranging from €34,000 - €38,000 (gross salary)
